Best performance nationally: Audit Outcomes

After the Auditor General of South Africa release the audit findings of various national and provincial departments, the Western Cape Government is proud to have achieved the best audit outcome in South Africa for the financial year 2014/2015.

Twelve of the thirteen Provincial Departments received clean audits. These are the Departments of Agriculture, Community Safety, Cultural Affairs and Sport, Economic Development and Tourism, Education, Transport and Public Works, Human Settlements, Local Government, Environmental Development and Planning,  Department of the Premier, Provincial Treasury and Social Development as well as the Provincial Parliament

Western Cape Finance Minister, Dr Ivan Meyer said that is all thanks to hard work, good governance, dedicated officials and proper monitoring.

“The Auditor General’s report is proof that we can govern effectively and manage our money properly. Good governance is more than technical issues. It has to do with the moral values of officials. We have learned a lot” said Meyer.
