Western Cape Department of Agriculture Donates Horse Deworming Supplies

Western Cape Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gerrit van Rensburg, recently presented the Cart Horse Association and the Cape of Good Hope SPCA with 900 horse deworming kits each.

It is estimated that the 1 800 deworming kits will be enough to treat 800 horses for one year.

Minister Van Rensburg thanked cart horse owners and animal welfare organisations for taking care of horses and said that because cart horses are part of Cape Town’s culture and history, it is important to keep them integrated in the city’s economy.
