Summary
The Department places great emphasis on creating settlements that are sustainable. Two of the projects it is especially proud of involve the installation of solar panels at Joe Slovo and the installation of permeable paving in Steenberg, both in Cape Town. These projects align themselves very neatly with the Premier's 110 % Green campaign because they allow our settlements to rest a little more lightly on the land they occupy.
