Patients at Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital did not miss out on Easter festivities this April, thanks to dozens of donations to the hospital.
Easter fever infected the staff as well and seven departments took part in the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital's annual Easter creativity competition. The theme this year was baking and the judges had a difficult time choosing between the elaborate baking displays.
Clowns took Easter goodies around to every child in the ward. | A detailed and intricate design by Marilyn in Human Resources, which combined almost all the elements of Easter in a story, was the winner. |
The Stepping Stones Creche was the only participant to use the religious aspect of Easter as part of their baking display. This entry placed second. | |
The Radiology Department demonstrated what the Easter bunny would be in for should he come for a CT scan. This entry placed third. | The Trauma Ward showed their support for Nelson Mandela with their Easter cake. |
The Oncology Ward, who were the 2010 champions, entered a good display, which included a moving train, but did not take home the prize. | The Occupational Therapy department used lots of colour and flowers to complete their baking display. |
The Communications Department entered a baked cheescake decorated with marshmallows and chocolates. |
