Since its inception, the aim of the Western Cape Government (WCG) Walk-in Centre (WiC) has always been to provide easy access to government information and services to those who prefer face-to-face interaction.
The WiC forms part of the Western Cape Government (WCG) Contact Centre and is one of fourteen channels for citizens to interact with the WCG.
The centre is situated in the Cape Town city centre, at 9 Wale Street, and is easily accessible from Wale Street or Dorp street.
Citizens visiting the centre will be greeted by the friendly, well-informed staff with updated government information, services, and opportunities.

An NPO help desk, which assists nonprofit organizations with registration support, compliance status information, NPO training and certificate distribution, is also accessible on the premises.

You can also get help accessing other government departments and services, such as the Expanded Public Works Programme.
All citizen interactions made at the WCG Walk-in Centre get logged, be it a query, complaint, or compliment, for future follow-up purposes.
The WCG Walk-in Centre has made a difference in the lives of the roughly 600 monthly visitors that use the service. Staff at the WCG Walk-in Centre assisted many job seekers and youth in applying for vacancies and other opportunities within the WCG over the years.
The WCG Walk-in Centre has been an access point for many WCG campaigns, such as the Premier’s blanket and book drives, including the monthly First Thursday events.

The Call Centre channel is operational on weekdays: 08:00 to 17:00 and weekends: 08:00 to 13:00. All other channels are operational on weekdays 07:30 – 16:00. We are closed on public holidays.
You don’t need to make an appointment before visiting the Walk-in Centre.
