Understanding Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
The Western Cape Office of the Consumer Protector (OCP) joins consumer protection agencies across the world as it celebrates World Consumer Rights Day on 15 March 2018.
The OCP theme for this year recognises consumer problems in purchasing and buying second hand goods. This is in recognition of the numerous complaints related to second hand vehicles. Year on year the OCP is inundated with complaints from disgruntled consumers who strongly believe that they have been ripped off by second hand car dealerships.
The campaign is focused on assisting ordinary consumers that are often unsure about what their consumer rights and obligations are. Many consumers are unsure or confused about what they can do when they experience challenges with products or services they have purchased from a business .
In our FAQ’s we try and answer some of the usual questions consumers have.
