Department of Local Government hosts workshop to enhance Infrastructure Planning

The Department of Local Government through its Municipal Infrastructure directorate will host a three-day workshop aimed at enhancing infrastructure planning and development within Western Cape Municipalities. The workshop will take place in Worcester from May 8th to May 10th.

The forum will embrace collaboration among relevant stakeholders, particularly around co-planning and co-budgeting for infrastructure projects. The event will be facilitated by the Economic Development Partnership (EDP) over the three days fostering meaningful discussions and exchanges of ideas by bringing together various sectors, including government agencies, community representatives, and industry experts. Through this proactive approach, the Directorate seeks to ensure that municipal infrastructure projects are effectively planned and budgeted for, ultimately leading to more efficient and sustainable use of budgets.
