Tomorrow, in light of 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence, the Minister of Social Development in the Western Cape, Albert Fritz, will be conducting an oversight visit to the Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children, and the on-site Mhani Gingi Social Entrepreneurial Network.
While Saartjie Baartman provides a shelter for victims of abuse; Mhani Gingi upskills victims of abuse residing at the shelter so that they do not have to return to their former abusers for financial support. These dual services are essential in empowering women and overcoming gender-based violence in our society.
Date: Wednesday, 28 November 2018
Time: 9:00 – 10:00
Venue: Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children, Klipfontein Road, Manenberg, Cape Town, 7764
There will be an opportunity for photograph and interviews.
