For the first time this year two of the twelve students came from the Department's Experiential Training Programme where students are placed with the various disciplines in the Department.
This year's group of recipients covers a wide range of geographic space, from Atlantis in the West Coast through Nyanga East, Wellington right up to Beaufort West.
Minister Skwastha and his Head of Department will be handing out the award certificates to the twelve recipients at a ceremony to be attended by the students and their parents/guardians. Commenting on his Department's bursary scheme Minister Skwatsha said, "This is my department's effort to fund scarce skills in the technical sector by ensuring that Black students have access to necessary funding. This is also our contribution to iKapa elihlumayo to grow the Western Cape through skills development."
