Minister Marais welcomes progress in Joslin Smith case

22 October 2024

Western Cape Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Anroux Marais, has welcomed the progress in the Joslin Smith disappearance case. The pre-trial arguments in the case will be heard in the Western Cape High Court on January 31 2025 after one of the accused turned state witness.

“I welcome the progress in the case. I sincerely hope that it means we will shortly know the circumstances surrounding Joslin's disappearance, so that she can be brought home. Justice must also be done so that those involved in these terrible events can be prosecuted,” Minister Marais said.
