Road projects under construction: Festive season arrangements

There will be stop/go closures on the Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW) project to upgrade Trunk Road 28 Section 2 between Hermanus (km 6.2) and Stanford (km 24) for the entire duration of the end-of-year holiday break. Every one of the other 33 DTPW road construction project-in-process will be open to two-way traffic until construction work resumes in the new year.

List of current road construction projects that will permit two-way traffic during the end-of-year break

• C1029: Resealing of Trunk Road 23 Section 2 from Hermon (km 0.0) to Gouda (km 17.83) and resealing of Main Road 23 from Wellington (km 2.62) to Hermon (km 23.09).
• New pedestrian bridge no. 6030 at De Beers Ave (km 42.1) over Trunk Road 2/1 (Somerset West).
• C822: Upgrading of MR344 (km 1.55 to km 14.84) and DR1578 (km 31.13 to km 34.99) near Grootbrakrivier.
• Periodic maintenance of TR24/1 from Malmesbury (km 0.00) to Hermon (km 24.76).
• C1038: N7 Upgrading to freeway standards: Potsdam Interchange to Melkbosstrand Interchange – Potsdam Loop Ramp.
• C1009: Rehabilitation of a section of Divisional Road 1111 between Main Road 217 and Kalbaskraal (km 12.31 to km 23.50).
• C1008.01: Rehabilitation of Divisional Road 1688 from Calitzdorp (km 1.00) to the Calitzdorp Spa turnoff (km 15.64).
• C1089: Periodic maintenance of TR31/1 (km 13.58 to km45.02), TR31/2 (km 2.16 to km15.68) and MR 0287 (km 2.69 to km 14.50) – Worcester to Robertson to Ashton.
• C1080: Periodic maintenance of DR 1064, DR 1065, DR 1067, DR 1069 and the development of a portion of DR 1053 – Stellenbosch area.
• Upgrading of R310 (Baden Powell Drive between N2 and Vlaeberg Rd).
• Rehabilitation of TR 33 Section 3 between Oudtshoorn (km 1.9) and De Rust (km 35.4).                                    
• C0993.02: Resealing of TR75/1.
• Periodic maintenance of TR 30 section 1 from Langhoogte (km 0.0) to Villiersdorp (km 22.43) and Section 2 from Villiersdorp (km 0.38) to Worcester (km 12.00).
• C1057.13: Routine road maintenance between Oudtshoorn and Mossel Bay.
• C1057.14: Routine road maintenance from Merweville to Klaarstroom.
