Client Services: Reading Room Members of the public are able to consult archival records in the reading room, which is equipped with online access to NAAIRS, and power points for laptops at each reading table, as well as finding aids that will assist researchers in locating archival records. Archivists are on hand in the reading room to advise and assist researchers with their queries. Rules and regulations should be adhered to by researchers with regard to the handling of archival records, and in demonstrating consideration for their fellow researchers in the reading room. If you are unable to visit the reading room in person to conduct your research, professional freelance researchers may be able to conduct research on your behalf for a fee. The Western Cape Archives and Records Service carries no responsibility for any contractual arrangements entered into in this regard.
