FABCOS - Foundation of African Business & Consumer Services
An umbrella body of black business organisations and is one of the oldest black organisations in SA, Fabcos was established in 1988 to bring together the formal and informal sectors of the economy.
Fabcos promotes the development and empowerment of black businesses by providing basic skills training, marketing expertise, research and management services, and making empowerment opportunities available to its members.
Through participation in forums like the National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC), Fabcos represents the interest of black entrepreneurs in the development of governments black business policies. Fabcos has two distinct operational entities: Fabcos Section 21 Co, a nonprofit-making company that was created to focus on the development needs of its members; and Fabcos Investment Holding Co Ltd (Fabhold), which focuses on the commercial and investment affairs of the organisation.

AHI- Afrikaanse Handels Instituut
The AHI is a mult-sectoral employer organisation, involved in all sectors of the economy except primary agriculture, they are one of the principal employer organisations representing members of trade, industry, mining, financial institutions and a variety of service organisations.

SACOB - South African Chamber of Business
SACOB is the largest business organisation in the country. Through its constituent chambers, it has a total membership of close to 40 000 businesses, most of them small and medium-sized. Some 150 of the largest business corporations in South Africa are direct members of SACOB and nearly 50 national associations are affiliated members.
These associations represent the interests of specific sectors of the economy.
SACOB sits on industry boards and on government bodies and in this capacity it makes recommendations as the voice of business to government and other industry role-players.

The BMF stands for the development and empowerment of managerial leadership, primarily among black people, essentially within corporations; ownership and creation of managerial structures and processes which reflect the demographics and values of the wider society. The Black Management Forum has played a role in creating economic opportunities for black people and women through its efforts in securing the Employment Equity Act and the establishment of the Black Economic Empowerment Commission (BEEC).

National Business Initiative - NBI
The NBI was formed as a not-for-profit, business-based, public interest organisation, with over 180 leading South African and international companies as its members. Its focus is on the contribution of the business community to socio-economic delivery, employment creation and the delivery of basic services within local government structures.
